I want to find new investors
Both private and public investors are ready to put money into profitable businesses with a social or environmental mission.
These include the Industrialisation Fund for Developing Countries (IFU), which typically acquires stakes in new Danish ventures in developing countries.
IFU, which is owned by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), expects its investments to produce a return and to be used to promote economic development.
Another possibility is to apply for capital from Vækstfonden, another Danish State investment fund, which invests in innovative businesses, especially in the environmental field.
Both social and financial expectations
Characteristic of investors like IFU and Vækstfonden is that they expect both a financial and a social return. So it is essential for your company to be in a position to measure the effects of the activities awarded funding.
If you get an opportunity to present your idea to a prospective investor, you need to emphasise:
- The amount of investment needed
- The terms and conditions you are proposing – control, skills, investment time horizon, etc.
- The ability of your company and its employees to achieve your plan
